Clean your patio area - The patio shown is about 7'x7'. After hosing off the concrete and giving a quick scrub, the surrounding area was cleared of weeds.
Placement - Lay down your sod trays in a design that fits the space, and your pet. We added our shrubs directly to the soil, but in retrospect, would have kept them potted. After this, we laid down cut plastic shopping bags (the kind you get from the grocery store, you can also use trash bags) on areas showing dirt, to prevent weeds from regrowing. Then outline the sod trays with your bricks or pavers, this will also help keep the plastic down. Lastly, we covered the plastic bags with decorative gravel.
Potted Plants - Spruce up the area with your re-potted plants, this will also give Fido something to lift his leg on.
Notes - It may take a bit for your dog to get adjusted to such a small space, but dont lose hope, they always get the hang of it in time.
